Let me share some of my experiences attending one of the top, pioneers R n D and Design analysis of jet engines.
When we think of attending an interview, commonly we tend to think questions on working principles jet engines will be asked. Actually they will looking forward to grasp how much a candidate has understood from what they have done.
For example: An Graduate Mechanical engineer might have done the analysis of F1 chassis system as a academic project. So if he is attending the interview he need not study about jet engineer or the areas where the company researching about. Only thing he need to be confident is how much he has understood from what he has done.
For example: During the interview, the interviewer put the first question as, Explain any one of the problems u have solved which u liked most?
So u can begin with your F1 project, start giving the elaborate technical details, the dimensions, material models, thickness data, loading ,bc's, why u have used such? why not u could have gone for alternative material or bc (boundary condition, FEA)
what are the values u have obtained and how u have interpreted it.
Also they may put questions on the basic theory behind the project you have worked in , the assumptions made, why such assumptions are made, what happens if you violate such assumptions…..
Tips for CAE interview:Review all SOM, FEM equations
Be thorough with one of projects u have worked
